Sad to advise of the passing of Barry Painter on Wednesday June 14th
I have known Barry some time, a really great guy with a fantastic sense of humour and always good company.
An extremely popular person, despite leaving the area for a new life in Suffolk he still kept in touch with the club visiting whenever possible.
In the 1970's Barry was the clubs social secretary, organiser of many a great night at the club not least the famous pantomime's held back in the day.
He was also from memory the first person to obtain Club Sponsorship. Our very first season in the TVL Barry negotiated a sponsorship with a local golf shop who in addition to monetary input provided the 1st XI with Jackets to be worn to games, an effort to present the club in a professional manner.
Barry was very proactive with encouragement and support for the colts section, well respected by all with a good knowledge and advise to pass on.
Our sincere condolences to his wife Chris, his children Kevin, Jon, Mandy and all of the family.
RIP Barry, you leave some great memories to smile and remember with fondness.
